The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for design review, execution, and maintenance of all electrical
systems in the API manufacturing facility, ensuring reliable, safe, and compliant operation of equipment and
utilities.
Key Responsibilities
Review, verify, and prepare electrical single line diagrams (SLD), load calculations, cable schedules, and
panel GA drawings for API plant projects.
Study, interpret, and mark‑up electrical wiring drawings, loop diagrams, and control schematics for LV/MV
systems, MCCs, PCCs, VFD panels, and field instruments
Plan and execute installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical distribution systems, panels, motors,
VFDs, lighting, earthing, UPS, DG sets, and HT/LT switchgear
Supervise contractors during electrical project execution, ensure adherence to drawings, standards, and safety
procedures, and resolve site‑level technical issues
Coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, and HVAC teams for power and control requirements of
process equipment, utilities, and cleanroom systems
Implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all plant electrical equipment to minimize
breakdowns and downtime
Troubleshoot electrical faults in panels, drives, motors, control circuits, and field wiring, and implement
permanent corrective and preventive actions
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (IEC/IS standards, electrical inspectorate
requirements, explosion‑proof/ATEX norms for hazardous areas, etc.)
Participate in energy audits and drive energy‑saving initiatives (power factor improvement, load balancing,
efficient motor/drive selection, optimization of lighting, etc.)

Prepare and update as‑built drawings, technical documentation, maintenance records, and SOPs for all critical
electrical systems.
Support qualification and validation activities for electrical utilities and equipment as per pharmaceutical GMP
requirements (where applicable).
Ensure strict adherence to EHS practices, lockout–tagout (LOTO), work permits, and safe work procedures for all
electrical jobs.
Customer, Network & Channel Management
Leverage an established personal network with procurement, R&D, product development, and commercial
stakeholders
Build and maintain long-term, consultative relationships with key customers, distributors, and strategic
partners
Expand wallet share of existing accounts and revive dormant or underperforming relationships
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contracts within approved frameworks
Qualifications
B.E / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university
5–7 years of experience in electrical design, project execution, and maintenance in API / pharmaceutical /
chemical / process industry.
Skills Required
Strong knowledge of LV/MV power distribution, motor control centers, PCC/MCC design, cable sizing,
short‑circuit calculations, and protection coordination
Hands‑on ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, loop drawings, interlocking schematics, and
P&IDs from an electrical perspective
Experience in installation and execution of electrical systems at project sites, including cable laying, tray
routing, termination, panel erection, and commissioning
Working knowledge of AutoCAD (or similar E‑CAD tools) for electrical drawings and basic familiarity with ETAP
or similar software will be an added advantage
Good understanding of electrical safety, hazardous area classification, earthing and lightning protection
systems, and statutory inspection requirements
Strong problem‑solving attitude, ability to handle breakdowns under time pressure, and support 24/7
manufacturing operations as needed
Effective communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and contractors
