Biocatalysis is the ecofriendly reaction where
natural catalysts, such as enzymes are used to perform chemical
transformations. Some of the constraints in organic synthesis
are low yields of high selectivity compounds. Selectivity
can be achievable in organic reactions using protecting/ activating
groups which ultimately contributes for the cost of process.
Enzymes can accept a wide array of complex molecules as substrates,
yielding products with unparalleled stereo, regio and chemo
selective desirable products.
At Bioplus, scientists of different areas
of biotechnology are involved in developing the novel methods
of biocatalysis as viable alternatives for certain organic
reactions. At the core, our efforts and investments are in
these domains, targeting cost effective efficient technologies.
